The developmentally appropriate programs are based on the child’s intellectual, social, and physical needs and are designed to encourage child-initiated learning activities in a warm and nurturing environment.  Our modern teaching philosophy incorporates aspects of the German Kindergarten model and the NYS Common Core.

In our inquiry based environment, children construct their own knowledge through investigation, experimentation and observation.  The curriculum is based on seasonal, cultural and universal themes, where all the areas of development are interrelated and children develop cognitive, math/science and language skills.

We encourage children to be an active part of the KinderHaus.  Participation is a strong aspect in our work and we believe that children can play a significant role in inventing and shaping their themes and projects.
