An unforgettable season of imagination, movement, language, and nature

This summer, KinderHaus invites children to immerse themselves in joyful, language-rich, and inquiry-based experiences through two distinct programs:

🌳 WaldKinder (Prospect Park, ages 3+, potty trained)

Rooted in the Forest Kindergarten philosophy, our WaldKinder program takes place entirely outdoors in the beautiful landscape of Prospect Park. Mornings are spent exploring nature, guided by experienced German-speaking educators who transform the park into an open-air classroom.

Children engage in hands-on learning through nature-based experiments, sensory play, storytelling, and exploration—all while being fully immersed in the German language. Weekly themes spark curiosity and creativity as children investigate bugs and birds, create land art, splash in water, and even hunt for treasure! Activities support cognitive, emotional, and social development through movement, teamwork, and wonder.

Special Feature: Beach Camp Week!
Based on popular demand this summer, our WaldKinder will return to the beach, turning into Beach Campers for a week of sun-soaked discovery. Children will build sandcastles, collect seashells, create ocean-inspired art, and follow a magical treasure map starting with a message in a bottle (Eine Flaschenpost). This blend of nature play, sensory exploration, and storytelling at the shore is a summer highlight your child won’t forget!

Sample Weekly Themes:

  • Land Art – Create nature mandalas and weavings using park-found materials

  • Olympia – Learn teamwork and agility through playful Olympic games

  • Beach Week – Dig for treasure and build sandcastles at the beach

  • Wildlife Jungle – Track animals, spot turtles, and visit the zoo

  • Yoga in the Park – Cultivate mindfulness, balance, and creativity

  • Water Splash – Explore water through science, art, and play

  • Treasure Hunt – Solve clues and find surprises hidden in the park

  • Goodbye Summer – A week of celebration, friendship, and reflection

☀️ SommerKinder (KinderHaus Garden Program, ages 2+)

Our SommerKinder program brings the joy of summer into our classrooms, backyard spaces, and local field trips. Each week features an exciting theme, combining arts, science, music, and movement in small and large group settings. While fully immersed in German, children sharpen their thinking skills, explore with their senses, and build confidence in a nurturing, play-based environment.

Sample Weekly Themes:

  • Welcome Summer! – Discover blooming plants and nature’s summer colors

  • Olympia – Build balance and team spirit through fun competitions

  • Water Splash – Experiment with water play and visit local splash parks

  • Tutti Frutti – Learn about fruits and colors through art and cooking

  • Culinary Adventures – Cook, taste, and explore global dishes

  • Oceanography – Dive into marine life through textures and sound

  • Jungle Gym – Swing, climb, and learn about jungle animals

  • Goodbye Summer – Celebrate the season with music, crafts, and German traditions

Both programs are guided by KinderHaus’s core belief: children learn best through exploration, creativity, and connection—with nature, community, and language. Whether painting with petals, cooking new dishes, or building forts in the woods, every child is invited to grow, wonder, and shine.
